The 52-200 is Onsrud's two-flute upcut spiral for wood and composite wood.
An upcut spiral lifts chips up and out of the slot, so it can run deeper cuts without packing chips. It gives a clean bottom edge. The top face can fuzz or chip in veneer and laminate, so for finished top surfaces use a downcut (57-200) or a compression bit (60-100MW).
Where it fits
- Solid wood and MDF: grooving, pocketing and profiling.
- Deep slotting: where chip clearance matters more than top-edge finish.
- Raw or unfinished panels.
Choosing a size
