Onsrud 3 Flute Solid Carbide End Mill — Square, Standard Length, Necked

A three-flute solid carbide end mill built for non-ferrous work — aluminum, brass, bronze and copper. The polished channel design and open flute geometry keep chips moving instead of packing, which limits heat buildup and supports longer uninterrupted runs in both quick-turn prototyping and volume production.

Key Features

  • Open Flute Geometry: improves slotting, reduces total cutting force and clears debris easily.
  • Advanced Chip Former: better chip removal and control, supporting continuous machining.
  • Polished Flutes: increased chip passage and less friction at contact points, so less heat and a better finished surface.
  • Tool Construction: built for rigidity and wear resistance across one-off jobs and large runs.
  • Flexible Applications: optimized for ISO N materials, from initial slotting through contour finishing.

Why Three Flutes

Three flutes balance chip clearance against edge stability — smoother finishes and better tool stability at speed than a two-flute, without the chip-packing risk of a four-flute in soft non-ferrous metal. The result is minimized burring and cleaner edges, with a constant feed and faster cycle times.

Applications

Slotting, pocketing, contouring and finishing on CNC equipment. The structure holds up at high spindle speeds, suiting aerospace, automotive and high-precision component work, including deep material removal where tight tolerances matter.

AMC7091 Series Variants
