One US gallon jug. Part number UN2210.

Coolube 2210 is Unist's original MQL cutting lubricant — a 100% natural, USDA certified biobased oil applied in minimum quantity rather than flooded. It is non-toxic, and it is what most shops running a Coolubricator or a mist system are buying when they buy Coolube.

What it is for

Ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plus wood, rubber and most plastics. It is the general-purpose member of the Coolube family. If your work is more specific, one of the others will serve you better:

  • 2210 — general purpose, mixed materials. This product.
  • 2210AL — formulated for aluminium and stainless, where lubricity under load matters more.
  • 2210XP — extreme pressure work.

All three are the same price and the same one-gallon jug, so the only question is what you are cutting.

Why shops run MQL instead of flood

Applied as a fine mist at the cutting edge, so there is no sump to manage, no coolant to dispose of, and parts come off the machine dry. In practice that means less mess, no bacterial growth, and a material cost per part that is usually lower than flood coolant despite the higher price per jug — you use very little of it.

Because it is non-toxic and nearly odourless, it is easier to live with in a shop where people work next to the machine all day.

What you need to run it

Coolube is the fluid only. If you are setting up from scratch you will also want a delivery system:

Reordering

Most shops on a CNC router or mill get through a gallon every four to six months depending on spindle hours. If you would rather not think about it, tell us your run rate when you order and we will remind you before you run out.

Not sure whether 2210, 2210AL or 2210XP is right for what you are cutting? Ask us — it is a short conversation and it saves buying the wrong one.
