The LMT Onsrud 60-000 Series is a professional-grade CNC router bit line built for precision production work, using a scalloped cutting edge for extremely fast roughing and hogging.

High Helix or Low Helix — the part number tells you which

This series is made in two geometries, and they cut differently:

  • High Helix (≈30°) — part numbers 60-001 to 60-020. Designed for extremely fast machining and roughing: faster chip removal on upcuts, better hold-down on downcuts.
  • Low Helix (≈10°) — part numbers 60-037 to 60-074. Lower horsepower requirement, longer tool life and reduced chipping in solid wood.

Odd part numbers are upcut, even part numbers are downcut. The feeds & speeds table on this page shows Onsrud’s published Low Helix chip loads, which are the more conservative of the two — if you are running a High Helix tool (60-001 to 60-020) you can feed roughly 15–35% faster than the table shows. Ask us if you want the exact High Helix figures for your size.
